Associazione Triathlon Locarno

The society Triathlon di Locarno has been founded in 1998 with the goal of organizing triathlon competitions in the area of Locarno. It is an apolitical and non-profit organization. The executive committee is made by a dozen enthusiasts. The commitment is mainly based on volunteering, but achieve a professional quality.

Our Goals

High level sport competitions

We organize competitions of different distances, so that all the needs of the athletes can be satisfied.
The races are organized based on Swiss Triathlon directives
The organization is engaged for fair play and antidoping sensitization.

Family and Youth oriented, races for every need

The races are dedicated to every family member: Kids for the kids, Triathlon for the young, Mini for the amateurs, Olympic and Medium for the ambitious, Relays to have fun with friends.
Close to the finishing line there is an animated village with entertainment for viewers and with offers for the kids.

Environmental and social responsibility

The organization is committed to minimize the environmental impact.
In 2004 and 2005 this has been recognized with the Ecosport prize.
In 2006 and 2008 humanitarian association ABBA ("Abbastanza per tutti") has been helped, as well as Terry Fox Run (cancer research) in 2006 and 2007.
Since 2009 Triathlon di Locarno participates to the biggest national program for prevention in sport, Cool and Clean by Swiss Olympic.

Sport and health

Kids Triathlon isn't a competition but an opportunity to do some activity and to play with other participants, a perfect environment for sensitization to health and sport.
In every event the security and safety of athletes, volunteers and bystanders is top priority.

Relations with partners

The entire organization is based on volunteering and volunteers.
Collegiality and mutual respect are the base of the relations within the committee and with the numerous partners.
Our attention focuses on both the athletes and the volunteers.
To the commettee members, the volunteers and the partners we ask enthusiasm, commitment and, wherever needed, a highly professional engagement.
We keep a transparent relation with sponsors and supporters, striving to achieve mutual advantages and continuity.
